Shirley & David - Their Special Day | Sunday, October 11, 2009

Its one Wedding Dinner after another for me.
3 Wedding Dinners in a row. 3 weekends of rushing back from work to get ready and attending a dinner.
Normally, i would just skipped it. But unfortunately, these 3 invitations came from really good friends so i had no choice but to show up. I mean i did well enjoyed it. ^___^

Ok now....the final dinner -

~ Shirley & David ~

Shirley is one of my old colleague and friend. One of the original "Jing-Bang-Gang" that we used to be ages ago before we left that particular company we were working in and we both went on different journey. Especially when i went away to work onboard the cruise ship.

Anyway Shirley had her Pre-Wedding Party a week earlier. Last Friday to be exact and the Wedding Ceremony on Saturday morning. However the Wedding Dinner was only held a week later due to the bookings at the Resort. The Saturday ( Actual Day ) - the halls were all booked therefore Shirley has to have hers a week later. Shirley had her dinner at Kota Kemuning Resort.

Anyway lets get back to the Friday Party. It was just a very simple "makan-makan" sessions among friends and relatives. In the course of eating and chatting, the topic of Games for the Groom came up. It covers Sweet - Salty - Sour -Bitter.
If you've been to a Chinese Wedding , you'll know what it means.
Well one of the games they were discussing was Yoga Poses!!
And its not easy task man!!
Just check out these poses they found!!
As i wasnt there during the Wedding Ceremony, I had no idea how it went but i did however snap a shot of the picture of the poses!!!

~ The Challenging Yoga Poses ~

~ The girls discussing somemore on what sort of games to play on the Groom & his heng tais! ~
~ Us. Posing with the Contract that David was suppose to sign, List of Questions to ask, List of Games & The Yoga Poses ~

Like i said, as i wasnt there for the ceremony, i had no idea how the Groom and his heng tais performed!! hahaha
but im sure they did it all very well coz The Groom did get his Bride ^___^.

Then yesterday night, i attended the Wedding Dinner @ Kota Kemuning Golf & Country Resort.
As it was held at a resort, i think its a halal food served. Although i did not see any Muslim friends or relatives at the dinner.

Well its always best to let the picture tell its story......

~ After the Grand Entrance - The Bride & Groom take their seat ~

~ Filling in the glasses with champagne!~

~ Belly Dancing Girls & The Singing MC Duos - Both are the night's entertainment ~

~ Casty ~ Puah ~ Me ~

~ The Girls with the Corsage ~

~ The Group Shots!! ~

Congratulations Once again Shirley & David!!!
Wishing you guys Loads & Loads of Happiness Always!!!

Alice & Ben - Their Next Chapter | Sunday, October 04, 2009

~ Alice and Ben ~

Alice; one of my super oldest classmates buddy ever was getting hitched!!
Yes yes..it another week of Wedding Dinner for me!!

Now seeing that it's Alice's Wedding Dinner, i cannot say no. Althought i did wished i could have attended the Church Ceremony too but unfortunately im one of the weirdos that actually work on Saturdays. sigh.

Anyway the dinner was held at Klang Excutive Club, Bukit Raja. Thinking it was near, and thinking it was starting at 7.30pm, i didnt asked for half day leave or to even leave work earlier. ( I finished work at 5.30pm).

Boy was i wrong.
The Dinner started at 7.00pm - yes i mis-read it!

I took me longer to get home and get ready that I had expected!!
ok ok..i confessed..it takes me a long time to get ready!!!
Pick an outfit! Pick out accessories!! Pick out shoes!! =p
So with all that, i arrived a tad late. ok ok...late! Period!

I didnt managed to get a nice pic with the Bride n Groom when i got there as the dinner was gonna start soon and well both Bride n Groom were bz!! ^__^

After finding out where i was suppose to seat, i went on looking for the table just. Alice informed me that one of our super old friend, Frances was there too!! So being really exicted to see her I quickly went to look for my table and then i realised it was the wrong table!! hahahaha
so i had to make another bee-line back to the front of the hall and check again!! hehehe so embarrassing!!
Well there were loads of people. Loads of tables. But these are some of the decent shots i got for the night!!

~ Ben HEART Alice ~
~ Aaaw...dont they look cute together ??? ~
~ Nice!~
~ Ben giving the speech with Alice by his side ~
~ Lilian , France & Me ~
Havent seen Frances in years! It was great to finally catch up with her!!
And Lilian, she forgot to bring my date - her son!! hahahaa She's a new mummy with a cute baby boy!!
~ The Group Shot ~
~ The old Gang ~
Not many of the old gang came. Just Me, Frances,Mary,Lilian & Ing Keat!
After the the group photo and most of the dishes of the night were out, we started cam-whoring!! hahahaha
what did you expect right ? hehehe put a camera in my hand and i lose control!! hahaha gosh that sounds horrible!! hahahaha
~ Lilian & me ~
~ We squeeze Ing Keat at the back!! ~

~ A final group shot before we leave! ~

Congratulations Alice & Ben !!
Wishing you guys a sweet and loving life together!!

Alex did invite me to his wedding reception in Vietnam. I would have loved to attend if i had a partner to accompany me and the $$ too!! hahaha
But since i have neither, i didnt make it to Vietnam!! ^___^
I did however, made it to the reception that was held in KL. At Legend Hotel's Museum Chinese Restaurant on the 26th Sept 2009.
~ Directions ~
~ where i was seated before switching to another table ~
~ The wonderful Stage ~
Alex is a vegetarian, so is his family. So the wedding dinner was a vegetarian dinner.

Staying in Singapore | Thursday, September 24, 2009

During my stay in Singapore.
I was staying at the apartment that belongs to the company i worked in. As i was there for a training & observation, it was arranged for me to stay at their apartment. I had no idea how much the erm rent is but im just glad that i do have a place to stay. Althought i would have prefered a hotel?!!??! hahaha but lets not push it.

Anyway the apartment is located at Clementi. And a good thing that Shih Ran, a colleague and good friend of mine who was actually working in KL then moved to Singapore
. She now works in the same company too. Well good thing too coz she was there to show me how to take the buses & MRT to and fro from work.

Confession - i hardly ever taken public transportation. Especially in
Malaysia. The last time i was ever on a public transportation in Malaysia
was during my colleage days - and that was the KTM(Komuter Tanah Melayu). So that was almost a decade ago! hahahaha
and the last time ever on a public bus was when i was in
Hong Kong
. HAHAHA..just refer to my previous post for that erm story!! ^__^

Anyway, I am proud to say that i now know how to take the bus to Forum,
Orchard Road, Singapore
. And how to come back to the apartment at Clementine.

Back to the apartment, outside it looks kinda shady and shabby. I mean, the apartment/flats ???
You find these sorts apartment everywhere in Singapore
. I think it should be called HDB Flats ?? sigh..i dunno.

~ The old lift thats still working ~ A common sight everywhere, tables/benches for ppl to seat ~ Danger warning where they are installing the new lift! - this was always the view of the way up to the apartment i was staying ~

Now the reason why the place looks so shabby was due to a lot of construction work going on.
It seems that most of the apartments were built with lift in between floors as in it only goes to certain floors. And I think the apartments technically belong to the government and they are doing some upgrading work.

They are actually installing lifts for all those building without them. And I think they may have till erm next year ? to installed them all. So the apartment block that I was staying in wasn’t the only one that was having some sort of construction works going on.

The only problem was, it makes the places looks messy and dirty. Dust everywhere!! Dust! Dust! Dust!!

~The view from the apartment ~ The side view from the main gate ~ That white building is WestCoast Plaza ~
~the bridge that i crossed everyday while i was there to get to the other side which leads to the main road ~
The apartment is actually located pretty deep in, its about 10 minutes walk from the apartment out to the main road. But one thing good was, the apartment is located behind West Coast Plaza.( Formerly known as Ginza, Ginzi ? Plaza?? i dunno how it was spelt or was it the right name but somewhat down that line )
~ A Random Nigth Shot of one of the many apartments in Singapore ~

Im not gonna post any photos of the apartment from inside. But what i can say is, the apartment was spacious and nice. The deco was simple and minimal. Nice. I like it.

Singapore - Pros & Cons | Tuesday, September 15, 2009

My 4 days trip down in Singapore has been a tiring one.

Well first, I was there for work. Not permanently.=(. Just for a couple of days.

It’s was a training cum observation trip.

But as my policy goes, not gonna talk much about work. But I will however talk about non-work related stuff ^__^

For those short 4 days that i was there, i do find Singapore a nice place. I could so picture myself living in Singapore...going to work..and etc. And of coz just as it is with every country - there are always pros & cons.

So here is the short list i've come up with...

Things that I like.

  1. Easy to move around – everything was within walking distance
  2. Public Transportation is efficient – MRTs, Buses & Taxis.
  3. Food Court practically in every housing area
  4. Things aren’t really that expensive IF you are earning Singapore Dollars
  5. They have ‘Old Chang Kee’ practically everywhere!!
  6. Places such as Subway and Burger Kings are NON-HALAL.

Old Chang Kee ~ Subway ~ Bus Station ( Citylink i think? )
Things I dislikes
  1. Yes everything is within walking distance however just way too much walking
  2. Buses and MRTs are usually on time however it is a public transport – hence it’s usually crowded.
  3. Taxis are everywhere but I could never get the peak and non-peak hours right.
  4. I’m earning Malaysian Ringgit – hence I convert almost everything that I’m buying.
  5. Not all their food taste good. I still think Malaysia’s got the best selections of food.

Overall, it has been a fun trip for me. Tiring as I was working. And I was also walking a lot!! I felt so handicapped without my car!!! And all those walking were really killing my soles!! Hahaha good exercise – yes yes but still tiring coz just way too much walking. Sigh.

Anyway while i was there on a training cum observation trip - I Participated/Observed in an event that was held by the company. Its an annual event with loads of entertainments. Performances by the staffs which are mostly teachers, children and some invited guests too.

It was a two days event. Held on Saturday and Sunday – both from morning around 11am to 5/6pm. So it was 6 to 7 hours of non-stop activities and entertainments.

In those two days, there were of course some repeated activities and performances but overall many fun and great activities. To me, the highlight of the two whole days I spent there was this performance by a local Singaporean Group called Wicked Aura BatuCada. It’s a group of 6 to 7 guys, I forgot how many… but anyway, these group of guys are just uber talented!. They play musical instruments that are very much similar to drums and bells but i cant recall the names of the percussions they use. But basically it was a lot of drums!! A lot of cool uber cool beats!!

I am sooooo captivated by them.

I think they are just super super COOL!!!

I am now – OFFICIALLY a WICKED AURA FAN!!!!!

I felt like I was attending a concert. And had this event been held outdoor – in a huge open park – it would have been down right awesome!!!!

I was moving to the beats but slowly as there are like loads of people around me and I was holding my mobile phone to record down their performances! Hahaha

And why did I use my mobile phone????

Well coz they performed towards the later part of the day and by then my digital camera’s battery has died out!!!

My digital cam is a 6 mega pixel and my mobile phone was only 2 mega pixel. But seriously the quality of the videos and photos I took via my mobile phone was all pretty decent. It’s acceptable of course. Nothing to brag about but it is A-OK. ^__^

Perhaps one day, when my digital camera is really really kaput…then I’ll prolly get a new one. But until then, I can still depend on my good ol’ pentax ^___^

There are a couple of more things to update about Singapore....will definately put on the next entry...

Anyway, this is what i managed to record down using my digital camere before the battery died out...so check it out!!!

Coach ride to Singapore | Saturday, September 05, 2009

Will be away for the next couple of days.
My company is sending me over to Singapore for some training and observations sessions.

Seeing that its work, not gonna be saying much of it =p But what i will say is...I will be working Thursday - upon arrival - Friday, Saturday & Sunday.

Gonna be taking a coach ride to Singapore on Thursday morning and coming back on Monday.
Was intially suppose to go on First Coach, and of coz its covered by the company. But after some surveying, i asked if it was possible for me to take a different coach that would most likely cost more but i'll top it myself la.

What do i consider as comfortable :
1. Big comfy chair with roomy space for my legs.
2. Good Services.
3. Good facili
ties.
4. Smooth & Safe journey.
5. N
ot having to be seated to someone i dont know!! hahahaha

From what i have been checking out via the net and from people who have taken coach to Singapore before. There are definately pros and cons, for sure.

But after checking out a few and putting some thoughts into consideration, i've settled down on
Aeroline Coach.

Here are my list to compare between the two bus/coach line.

First Coach
Return Ticket is RM 115.00

Departure from Bangsar
Arriving at Novena ( I have never been there before )
Usually full as its a more popular choice and cheaper.

No meals but free flow of drinks
Indiviual Screen with Video-On-Demand ( but according to my friends, bring your own headphones )

Aeroline
Return Ticket is RM 169.00

Departure from Sunway Pyramid ( much nearer for me ^__^ )
Arriving at Harbour Front ( im super familiar with )

Less crowded ( i hope )
Onboard Meal ( supplied by Subway, Cafe 1920 and other reputable caterers)
Free flow of hot drinks
On-board Toilet
On-board Lounge ( on the lower deck )
Blanket available upon request
Reading Lights

So with just an additional RM 54.00, i get to travel in a much more comfortable vessel ?? so why not right ??
And im sure you'll agree with me that Aeroline's features definately is more appealing than First Coach.

To be honest, one of the main reason why i chose Aeroline was because of the on-board toilet.
I hate to think that should i need to go, the bus driver isnt gonna stop just for me. and its a 5 hours journey!! arghh the horror!!!!

So there, i chose Aeroline coz they have on board loos!!! hahaha I dont how its gonna be but i guess i will be checking out the coach - im seated on the upper deck.
Yes its a double decker bus/coach. The lower deck is a lounge that can sit 4 to 5. It seems super cool n comfy from the website, so we'll see the real deal tomorrow. ^__^

Ok...i should be sleeping by now coz im sleepy! hahaha finally done packing. its 12midnight now. Time to Snooze!! Good thing its a 5 hours ride - i could sleep on the coach on my way to Singapore
^____^

Passport - checked
Tickets - checked
Laptop - checked
Bag - checked

.

My tickets!!
