My 29th Bday - The last one in my 20s

Another year has passed.

I am officially 29 years old.

It didnt occured to me until an old friend texted me to wish me "Happy Birthday" and mentioned for me to enjoy it coz it wil be my last 20s Bdays!!

By this time next year - i will be celebrating my big 3 0 .

OMG!!!!

Has it been that fast already ????

Im hitting my 30s so soon ??
If you think about it, by January 2010 - im considered 30 already by year!

But of course techinically I wont be 30 until 20th Dec 2010.

A part of me feels lil worried n scared!!
its the BIG 3 0 !!

but at the same time im trying to make myself feel better and encourage myself to look forward to my 30s!!

Anyway a bunch of my colleagues celebrated my last 20s Bday on Thursday - which was a 3 days earlier but since Friday is a Public Holiday and i will be on leave the next whole week - we had an earlier celebration!

Peaches - my new colleague who just joined us arranged for it.

She has already told us that shes buying us lunch on Thursday.

And by lunch time on Thursday - her driver came by to drop off pizzas and KFCs along with a huge box from Secret Recipe!!

She got me Chocolate Banana Cake!!!

As it was my 29th Bday -there should be the right amount of candles corresponding to my age but come on - to stuff 29 candles onto a cake is definately a CRIME!!

So someone came up with the idea of Two Candles + One candle pushed 3/4 in.

Im fine with that - just as long as i dont have 29 freaking candles lighting on my cake!!!

Had dinner with my family on Saturday night. Our usual place wasnt available. Apparently good time to get hitched!! Loads of Wedding Dinners were going on.

Oh well, we went to Loke Fook Moon.

Not our usual choice but it wasnt too bad.

Karaoke Night!!!

Julie text me a week earlier and invited me to this lil gatherin that she was organising. Not big or fancy - just a lil get-to-gether at our local karaoke joint . A time to relax and unwind she says.

And it has been ages since i last went for a karaoke session. I was so looking forward to it.

It was also a Pre-Xmas & Pre-Bday Celebration for us. Its both myself and Casty's Bday this month. Our Bdays is just 3 days apart!! ^___^. We usually do try to meet up together for dinners or drinks so this gathering definately came at the right time!!

We went to " Neway " at Centro, Klang.

One of the many chains around Malaysia and i would say particulary in Klang Valley - Karaoke Joint has become once again an IN thing. I have no idea how karaoke joints work before "Neway" and "RedBox" came about so i have nothing to compare with. But these days, karaoke joints comes in private rooms and buffet meals!

No more embarrassing moments or stage fright coz you had to sing in front of a bunch of strangers!

No more having to suffer ear pain when strangers sang to off-key!! But still think they sang very well!!

I like the current concept of karaoke.

The Twilight Saga

If you have never heard of Twilight...New Moon...Eclipse....BreakinG Dawn...

Which rock have you been hiding underneath ???

The Twilight Saga is just about the hottest thing since the invention of paper!! haha ok ok im going a lil over board here!! hahaha

but any fans of The Twilight Saga will probably agree with me that these collection of 4 books - regardless of how expensive it is one book after another - is a definate MUST HAVE Collection!!

or perhaps i speak only for myself here!! hahahaa

Anyway, i finally watched New Moon last week after waiting for it for ages!!

Went to GSC Signature and paid RM 22.50 for it. Yes yes some may think im crazy for paying double of what normal cinemas are charging to watch the same show but unfortunately or fortunate ( depending on how you see it ) i dont mind paying a lil bit more for comfort!!!

And yes this was indeed a lil bit more than the normal pricing at GSC Signature - didnt know if it was because its the premiering show or because its New Moon and everyone ( especially the ladies) are just dying to see it!!

The addiction - obssession - whatever you may called it - started with Twilight.

Everyone was so into the movie - its practically a MUST SEE show....but i on the other decided not to watch it, just wait for the DVD loor....

Now while waiting for the DVD, everyone was buzzing about the books. Yes The Twilight Saga.

I have parents at work passing the book around! so i thought to myself, is it really that good ??

So i went n bought myself the first book, Twilight.

And the rest, as they would say is history!

I went and got all four - became a fan of the collection!! stayed up till 3, 4 and sometimes later or rather early hours of the morning just to finish reading it!!

Being a fan of Anne Rice - i was already very much drawn to Vampires!! I love the mystery that surrounds it. The romantic notion behind it. Its tempting.
Ah yes, temptation!!

The Twilight Saga Movies is no doubt a chick flick but its a good one. ^___^

New Moon - the second book. Now in New Moon Edward's character takes a step down for awhile and the story was more concentrated on Bella's best friend - Jacob The Werewolf!!

Go read the story and you'll be able to understand it a lot better!!

Now there are two teams to it.

A Team Edward

A Team Jacob

I confessed - being so drawn to vampires and Edward, i wouldnt mind being a vampire myself.
But while reading New Moon, i sort of open up to Jacob.

I love this guy.

Its a typical storyline. He's the good guy. The best friend.

Always there! Supportive! Protective! Good Looking ..no no i mean HOT!!You have got to be blind and stupid for not accepting him kinda guy. But alas, this type of guy never gets the girl!!

Why ? Because He is not the one you love!

Not that Edward is bad but again refer to the book to get a clearly pic.

Jacob is the guy i wished i had in my life. And i woudnt mind staying with him. But Jacob unfortunately usually ends up to be the "IF" guy.
"If i had only gone with him....or if i had fallen in love with him...etc etc"

Now back to the movie New Moon. One thing you will definately notice is that the Character Jacob Black is all grown up!!

And yes he is years younger than me n i shouldnt be thinking of him this way....but honey this guy has one hot bod!!!

give me a bucket of cold water coz he was steaming hot in the movie!!

Ok ok......Edward is hot too but i have to say Jacob is way hoter in the movie!!

Just for comparison sake - i have pictures of both Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. You see the comparison and you decide...

Maybe i didnt try hard enough to look for Robert's sexy abs pic...but based on these two pics - its hands down Taylor Lautner for me!!!

An Evening of food,drinks & New Moon

YES YES YES, New Moon is out!!! FINALLY!!

Waited ages for this movie.

So had earlier arranged to go out with the girls for dinner and the movies. And of coz, to watch New Moon. ^___^.

boy did GSC had me on a spin! initially, i knew the movie was only gonna be out on GSC Signature on the 26th Nov....then it changed to 27th Nov..which then totally changed my entire plan.....and then it changed back to 26th again!!! argh

Long Story Short - i found out that its premiering on the 26th - Got Online - asked the girls - Bought the tickets there and then!!

And true enough within hours - the cinema hall was 80% packed!!

So made plans with the girls for dinner and movie.

We had our dinner at Itallianies! which was good in my opnion! and they were having this promotion of

1 appetizer + 1 main = RM 27.90 which was really worth it!!

highly recommend it to those who love good food n love sharing!!

7 of us and we only ordered like 4 sets and we were all filled to the rim!!

Shirley & David - Their Special Day

Its one Wedding Dinner after another for me.
3 Wedding Dinners in a row. 3 weekends of rushing back from work to get ready and attending a dinner.
Normally, i would just skipped it. But unfortunately, these 3 invitations came from really good friends so i had no choice but to show up. I mean i did well enjoyed it. ^___^

Ok now....the final dinner -

Shirley is one of my old colleague and friend. One of the original "Jing-Bang-Gang" that we used to be ages ago before we left that particular company we were working in and we both went on different journey. Especially when i went away to work onboard the cruise ship.

Anyway Shirley had her Pre-Wedding Party a week earlier. Last Friday to be exact and the Wedding Ceremony on Saturday morning. However the Wedding Dinner was only held a week later due to the bookings at the Resort. The Saturday ( Actual Day ) - the halls were all booked therefore Shirley has to have hers a week later. Shirley had her dinner at Kota Kemuning Resort.

Anyway lets get back to the Friday Party. It was just a very simple "makan-makan" sessions among friends and relatives. In the course of eating and chatting, the topic of Games for the Groom came up. It covers Sweet - Salty - Sour -Bitter.
If you've been to a Chinese Wedding , you'll know what it means.
Well one of the games they were discussing was Yoga Poses!!
And its not easy task man!!

As it was held at a resort, i think its a halal food served. Although i did not see any Muslim friends or relatives at the dinner.

Alice & Ben - Their Next Chapter

Alice; one of my super oldest classmates buddy ever was getting hitched!!

Yes yes..it another week of Wedding Dinner for me!!

Now seeing that it's Alice's Wedding Dinner, i cannot say no. Althought i did wished i could have attended the Church Ceremony too but unfortunately im one of the weirdos that actually work on Saturdays. sigh.

Anyway the dinner was held at Klang Excutive Club, Bukit Raja. Thinking it was near, and thinking it was starting at 7.30pm, i didnt asked for half day leave or to even leave work earlier. ( I finished work at 5.30pm).

Boy was i wrong.
The Dinner started at 7.00pm - yes i mis-read it!

I took me longer to get home and get ready that I had expected!!

ok ok..i confessed..it takes me a long time to get ready!!!

Pick an outfit! Pick out accessories!! Pick out shoes!! =p

So with all that, i arrived a tad late. ok ok...late! Period!

I didnt managed to get a nice pic with the Bride n Groom when i got there as the dinner was gonna start soon and well both Bride n Groom were bz!! ^__^

After finding out where i was suppose to seat, i went on looking for the table just. Alice informed me that one of our super old friend, Frances was there too!! So being really exicted to see her I quickly went to look for my table and then i realised it was the wrong table!! hahahaha

so i had to make another bee-line back to the front of the hall and check again!! hehehe so embarrassing!!

Recently, my good ol'buddy bro from the cruise ship i was working on got hitched!!

He finally took the step and make this gorgeous sweet gal his missus!

I couldnt be happier. Two of my favourite people from the ship making it official!

Well Alex is a Malaysian but his missus is from Vietnam. They met when they were both working onboard the ship in Goa,India.

Alex did invite me to his wedding reception in Vietnam. I would have loved to attend if i had a partner to accompany me and the $$ too!! hahaha

But since i have neither, i didnt make it to Vietnam!! ^___^
I did however, made it to the reception that was held in KL. At Legend Hotel's Museum Chinese Restaurant on the 26th Sept 2009.

Alex is a vegetarian, so is his family. So the wedding dinner was a vegetarian dinner.

Now i have never attended a Vegetarian Wedding Dinner before. So this was kinda refreshing.

Im not gonna lie by saying all the dishes was great. I am a meat-eater!! hahahaha but its not bad. Some were pretty good and some were ok ok.

Overall, it was a great wedding dinner. Am really happy for the couple! Am really glad Alex placed me with his other good friend Regina and we seem to get along too.

First time ever attending a Vegetarian Wedding Dinner and it turned out pretty refreshing and good.
