Hong Kong June 2009 - Day 2 | Saturday, July 04, 2009

On our second day in Hong Kong - we moved to Park Lane Hotel, still in Causeway Bay.Like i said, sis was there for work and she along with her other colleagues have already arrange to stay in Park Lane - under the company's arrangement ^__^. Im just tagging along!

But i must say - Park Lane is very nice.
As compared to MetroPark & Rosedale - Park Lane is uber nice!! Unfortunately i didnt managed to take any pics of the building from outside as its the main road.So here are some shots of the hotel from inside.
This is the lobby/receiption. Right next to it is the coffee shop - you can the cake displays....

On the left is the tour counters. Then the concierge counter right next to the entrance.

Me at my floor. 24th Floor.
And here are shots of the room from different angles!!Its big, room and spacey!! hahaha all the same meaning..duuhh. But seriously,it was a very comfortable room. And it has nice soft pillows!! i thought for sure it would give me neck pain in the morning coz no support but 4 nights i slept there - i woke up with no pain on my neck!! it was sooo comfy!!
The desk - its very classy, glass table. See how nice my laptop looks on top of it! hahahahaa should i have my own house one day and a office room - i wouldnt mind designing it this way. its very nice! And of coz whats a hotel room without a nice flat screen TV hanging on the wall!!
And yes, the tea counter!! hahahaha they have great selection of teas - Early Grey & Jasmines - my favourites!!

i hope you guys arent gonna think that im such a country pumpkin...but heck i dont care. =ppppp . Here are shots of the bathroom!!
But i love the bathroom! its huge!! The sink area...the tub...the side mirror ( my favourite!! haha cant help it if im a vain pot n i need constant reassurance by lookin at the mirror up close!! hahaha) and our daily dosage of Watson Mineral water!
And of coz you have the usual stuff -
shower gel...shampoo...conditioner...toothbrush...shower cap....and the black jar ?? scroll down to see whats in it.
and on yes yes...the weight machine! its glass and nope..it doesnt break!!

The Black Jar - at first i was extremely curious as to why on earth would there be a Black Jar that resembles a Ash Urn be doing in the loo.....hmm...spooky right?? so of coz i opened it! and TA-Da!! its filled with cotton wools!! hahahaa so weird and yet funny!! hehe well atleast it was funny to me and my sis!! ^___^
Then next, we explore the area around our hotel- of coz!! hahahaa
We discover Fashion Walk !! both Fashion Walk 1 & 2.
Check out buildings like these are common in Hong Kong. You have like shopping malls or stores downstairs and aparment upstairs. Well atleast i think it was apartments coz i can see clothes hanging outside to dry. Imagine if i live in one of these apartments. And i go " Gosh I had a lousy day. I need retail therapy - hey lets go down to Marc Jacobs and get new bag!!! " ------aaaaaaaah,that would be a dream!!
Well anyway - Fashion Walk 1 & 2 is really another shopping haven! Loads of designer labels and stores to check out!!
Gosh...i miss walking down that street already................

Hong Kong June 2009 - Day 1 | Sunday, June 21, 2009

My second trip to Hong Kong, was definately a trip that i looked forward to. And this time it wasnt in a tour group. Sis had to go for work and I was just accompaning her. There were days where i was literally on my own. I could go shopping and explore wherever i like!! hahaha

The only downside of this trip - besides Sis had to work - is the current H1N1 influenza going on. sigh...
Due to that, i avoided a few crowded places.Didnt wanna take the risk. And i did went there well prepared.

Mask - checked!

Sanitizer - checked!

Wet Wipes - checked!

I was well prepared to face Hong Kong!! hahahahaha

First we flew there via Cathay Pacific - our flight was 9.00am but our limo arrived around 6.30am. We would need to check in 2 hours prior to the flight and we were hoping for a comfy seat as sis was preggars! but damn we were late hence we got stuck in the normal seats behind a rude guy!! argh...long story.
Neways, we arrived at Hong Kong International Airport at around 2/3pm. i cant really remember. hehehehe
Good thing sis always think ahead and have already made arrangement with the hotel for a pick up. With all the emails and formality on it, i was kinda expecting a limo or a private hotel van or something. Instead - it was a tour bus! hahahaha they actually have a few ppl who booked for transportation via the hotel like us all hurdled together well more like scattered! hahaha coz for a bus tht can fit over 40 people - there were only like maybe 10 or a few more of us??!?!?!?

Sis arranging for the transportation @ one of the many counters/booths at the airport.
And right next to it its the MRT Map. ^___^
Airport View. And a plane in an airport!!! not the hanger but right inside the airport! haha i remember this fellow from my last visit!
While waiting for our ride - i saw this...Bee Cheng Hiang!! bakuaa! eh we have that too !! hahaha
and this rather interesting erm set up - The Biggest "Flying Chess" in Hong Kong Free Game Zone. Never knew what it was as never got the chance to go it. sigh.
When i said prepared - see we are prepared!! hahahaha it was mask all the way to the hotel
Rosedale Hotel - where we stayed on our first night.
The reception is on the first floor. Upon entering, you will see the concierge and the escalator - a really narrow n long one too. which leads to the reception/lobby. A rather fancy chandelier hanging from the top as well.
A rather small room as compared to MetroPark which we stayed previously. But was nice and cozy.
A nice lounge like chair by the window. And a small but nice bathroom.

The view from our room. See that court across the street ? it was filled from corner to corner on weekends - with what ?? hahahaha dont be shock - but all the foreign workers and maids. kinda daunting though. And the next is the view of our hotel from the road. That rather square black building - thats Rosedale!
As we reached the hotel i would around 3 - 4pm. it was still early so we decided to start exploring of coz!! I walked across the hotel street - checking out whats nearby. And we stumbled upon this - Lee Gardens Area. Its literally filled with Designer Labels Boutique - from door to door.

And being in a place filled with all these tempting boutiques calling out to you - you just have to go in!! hahaha

less than 24 hrs upon my arrival in Hong Kong - i have already made the biggest purchase of the entire trip.A huge dent - a burning hole - in my purse! sigh.

but im sooo loving my purchase!!!

its a GUCCI!!! ^___^

Hong Kong ~ October 2008 | Saturday, June 13, 2009

Will be flying off to Hong Kong on Sunday morning...erm which is tomorrow! hahaha. So instead of packing - yes yes im not packed yet - i chose to upload old pics and post an entry on my blog...hahaha..i know i know..im such a weirdo!!
Anyway, im there accompaning sis who is gonna be there for work. I, on the other hand will be there for pleasure. ^__^ And since Sis is gonna be working 3 days out of the 51/2 days that we'll be spending there, i've got to find my own entertainment~! hahaha
Well actually this wouldnt be my first time to Hong Kong. Was just there last year with my folks, sis & Aunt. We actually flew to Macau then to Hong Kong. Was just too lazy to post an entry here....hahaha but i did uploaded the photos onto Facebook! ^___^
Anyway these are just a few shots for your viewing pleasure. Until i come around to put up another entry about Hong Kong. My next entry would be a post-dated trip on Macau.
Like i said, was actually in Macau first then we took a ferry/speedboat across to Hong Kong. It was about 45mins. So the first pic was of the Harbour Terminal....abit blurry coz the window on the ferry/speedboat was dirty!
Next was that of a building nearby where i was staying in HK then - MetroPark Kowloon
The ever famous Lan Kwai Fong ^_^

Taken while enjoying the Star Ferry Ride across the channel. ^_^
We were also at Repulse Bay - a crescent-shaped strand of sand - a beautiful beach and adjacent to it are gorgeous tall statues of chinese Gods and Goddesses. And these are just two of the many that i've taken but lazy to post up! hahaha

Whats a trip to HK without going up to Victoria's Peak ^_^. and yes while ya there, should visit Madame Tussards ^___^
Ocean Park was part of the itinerary - but a word of advise - AVOID the PLACE during WEEKENDS!! horrible horrible place to be at during weekends coz not only do you have to put up wit the local crowds but also erm crowds from the neighbouring country.....yes yes...the Mainlanders. sigh. was sure an eye-opener!! hahahaha

And lunch at one of the most famous landmark/seamark..hahaha in Hong Kong - Jumbo Kingdom Seafood Restaurant. The biggest floating restaurant. But our tour-package had a lousy package with the restaurant coz the food we had was lousy!!!
Some of the designer labels one must go while in Hong Kong. And make purchases!! hahahaha
Road signs. The one on the right-hand side is actually part of the Ladies Street in Mongkok. Didnt snapped any pics while i was there 3 nights in a row..ahaha was more concerned with shopping!! hahaha

The traffic police in Hong Kong looks good!! hahaha i mean, they look very manly-stylish-the oomph is there....as compared to our local traffic police...erm no comment!

All these are shots of the airport. Listed as one of the most beautiful airport in the world. ^_^
So there you go - these were all taken last Oct 2008. Wait for my 2009 shots!! ^___^

17 Again | Sunday, June 07, 2009

Went to the movies last Thursday with Lisa.
It wasnt exactly the movie we had planned to watched. We were suppose to watch
Terminator Salvation.
But i guess it was not our salvation at all as our intents were terminated when the 8.30pm show was FULL!!
i for one seldom...and i mean seldom go to the movies at night. i usually try to avoid the crowds and im one of those ppl who try not to make plans on weekday nights coz have to get up early the next day and drag myself to work. tsk tsk tsk
So instead of Terminator Salvation - we chose the next best option after putting the storyline and timing into consideration - we chose -
Let me begin by saying - I AM NOT HUGE FAN OF HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL -
yes yes i've watched it. yes i do think Zac Efron is cute. who wouldnt ??
but it is not really my fav genre of movies and Zac is definately not the type of guy i usually fall for. i think he is just tooo pretty.....a lil too pretty for my liking....and erm.....just a tad too goody too shoe.....agree???
He is good looking in his cute pretty blue eye soft hair kinda way ^__^ just not my type =)
Anyways, the show was about how this 30 something year old guy who was like hitting rock bottom. Was going through a divorce from high-school sweetheart, his children thinks he's a loser and he was passed over for a promotion.
20 yrs ago in high school - he has everything going for him.
A popular and talented basketball player.
And then one night - everything changed!
Woke up in the present time to find himself 17 again!!
so guys, if you wanna find out more, go catch the movie yourself ^____^
Its definately a funny movie!!
conclusion after watching the movie - i just have the sudden urge to date younger men!! hahahahaha
so younger men out there???!?!?! gimme a buzz!!
LOL
Meanwhile, what would you do if you were in the same position ? would you want to be 17 again ??? what was your best memories about being in high school??

Singing our hearts out!! | Tuesday, June 02, 2009

I know what you guys are thinking - karaoke......so lame.....singing in front of a bunch of people....Malaysian Idol wannabe???? hahahaha

truth be told - i love singing!! i absolutely love to sing!! i sing in the shower! i sing in the car!! i sing to myself!!!

hahahahaha ok ok...point made -

I Love to Sing!!

But oddly enough, in my 28/29 years, i have only been to the Karaoke twice - including this trip.

and i must confess - after this trip ,i think im hooked!!

The first time ever was at Neways with some of my friends. Was a fun experience but wasnt entirely as i had hoped for. Reason being, the friends i went with only wanted to sing chinese songs! and i cant read or recognise a single word of chinese!! and they werent into singing english songs either.....bummer!!

so a word of advice - go with friends that are into the same lingo as you!! you will definately have more fun!!

Anyway this was term end and a farewell gathering. one of my colleague is leaving for india. sigh. a funny lady. very sporty too!!

sorry i didnt snapped any photos of the drinks or food as i would usually do. i was bz cam-whoring and snapping photos of ppl in action!! hahahahaha and on top of that, didnt want ppl to think i only take photos of food!! as much as i love to eat and give my two cents on food - im not as good as those food-bloggers out there. and there are many!!

so i'll just stick to my rambling nonsense ^___^

We had the gathering at RedBox, Gardens after work.

The Menu of the day was

A Main Dish of Buffet

Unlimited supply of Beers & Soft Drinks

A side of Uber Funny Entertainment

And followed by

Non-stop flow of Singing Your Hearts Out Desserts!!

A whole bunch of us! it was so much fun!! Singing...drinking...laughing at each other!!

Posers & Chillers!!

These were definately the singers of the night!! From Whitney to Mariah. From Wang Lee Hom to Fish Leung. And from English to Hindi!

You guys named it - we've sang it!!
Caleb - Shoby - Rowena - Jessie - Amy & Papia

This was something i definately need to take a photo of - Mic without condom and Mic with condom! so hygenic!!

And whats a cam-whore session without some in your face shots with weird weird lips & tongue action!!! hahahaa
Veron - Me - Shoby - Rowena

Trying to get a decent self-shot....but unfortunately was not well balanced!! hahahaa
Shirley - Me - Shoby ( of half of Shoby..haha)

A good decent pic of Veron - Me - Danny

I had a lot of fun!! if it werent a Monday night and I had to work the next day - i would have hang around a lot longer!! I am soooo definately arranging for another trip there soon........heheheheheh

Did i happened to mention that I LOVE TO SING!!

Sell Out! | Monday, May 11, 2009

Now this is a movie you guys definately wanna go and watch.
I did.
Watched it yesterday night with my colleagues @ GSC Signature, Gardens.

This movie had me laughing from the beginning till the end.
It all started last week when my boss came in one monday and informed Shirley to arrange to book a cinema hall at GSC Signature,Gardens.

yes you read it right. to book a cinema hall. the entire hall. Premier Seating at GSC Signature, Gardens.

and Yes it was on our boss! ^___^

Boss was actually at the preview the day before she spoke to us. It was so funny and she enjoyed it so much, she insisted that we had to watch it as well. And the lead actor was a hottie!! yes yes she told her Peter Davis is a cutie!!

so of coz there and then i googled him!! and yes...he was yummy!! hahahaha
and of coz i googled about the movie too. Up until our boss told us about Sell Out!, i have never heard of it.

So she told Shirley to make the arrangements and etc.
Shirley wasnt too sure where to start, so i just went on GSC website...found their number n called up. And from there, finally managed to arranged everything.

it was so cool when i finally went over to GSC Signature to pick up all 58 tickets! hahaha
i have never bought THAT MANY tickets in my entire life!! so cool!!
i met up with the Cinema Manager - made the payments at the Gold Class counter....and there were actually 2 couples lining up behind me.......hahaha
they were wondering what the heck was this lady doing with that many tickets! hehe

i still think and feel it was sooooo cooool...hahaha

Anyway, some ppl may not like the idea of actually paying close to RM20 per ticket just to watch a movie but if you have been there, you'll agree with me that its a super cozy cinema. All the cinema halls in GSC Signature is small and cozy. The most they can fit into one hall is i think around 58 pax.
And these days, i only watched movies at GSC Signature. I know im gonna come off sounding like such a snob.......be seriously, i much much perfer GSC Signature. Its cheapers on weekdays!!

RM 16 before 6pm and RM 18 after 6pm.
RM 20 for weekends and public holidays.,

You can check it out yourself - GSC Signature

i have yet to try out Gold Class.........hmmm...its way way to pricy for me! hahaha unless someone treats me!! *wink* *wink*

So back to the movie.
its funny.
its one of a kind.
its a musical.
i love the musics/songs in the movie. cant wait to get the soundtrack.
and the best part of it is - THIS IS A LOCAL PRODUCTION!!!
yes - you read it right. its Made in Malaysia!!

it has won loads of awards.
been around the world before finally coming back to its home country.
before you roll your eyes and say.... " what...a local movie ar...cheh! "
take my word for it. its good. really good!!

Ooh did i mention that the director and both leads was there as well ??
As it turns out, my boss actually know the director personally and invited him and both leads to the movie too.
They didnt join us for the movie but they were there for a short mingling session before and after the movie!

i didnt get to talk to them before the movie, but after the movie, i hung around.
i just had to go and express my admiration for the lead actress - Jerrica Lai.
she has an amazing voice!!

and of coz it doesnt hurt to speak to the lead actor - Peter Davis too..hehehe he is kinda cute too!! hahahaha

actually, im very fond of the director!!
i think he is very very talented!
and i do think that he's kinda cute too....^___^

So guys, no point for me to drag on how much i enjoyed the movie. how funny it was. how cute the director and lead actor is...hahahahaha
go catch the movie yourself and then we can meet up and exchange our thoughts on it! !! ^_^

One Sunday Afternoon.... | Sunday, April 05, 2009

i know what you guys are gonna say....i should just make this into a food blog right ??? hahahaha
but its not like i just wanna post photos of food - its just that everywhere we go...for gatherins or just to hang out - food or drinks are usually involved ok!!
But i do post pics of other stuffs too ok!! hehehe

Anyway, one couldnt have asked a better way to spend the day than that with those of your close ones and friends - chit chatting over some great selection of food!!!

So today i went out for steambot with two of my buddies!! Michelle & Timothy.
we met up for lunch. you guys are prolly thinking -

Steambot + Lunch = Nuts ??????

but today was a great day coz it has been raining since noon...haha a nice day for steambot even if its for lunch!!
i recommended this place -100c Steambot & BBQ Restaurant to both Timothy & Michelle the last time we all met up for dinner. Its one of my favourite place to have steambot. Coz there is a wide selection - over 20 types of sauces to choose from - and this is the best part - 11 different soup base!!! And to top it up - everyone gets their own individual pot of soup!!!! soooo good coz not only do you have wide selections besides the norm - its also hygienic coz u dont have other ppl dipping into one common pot of soup !! its very ideal if you are like me -

i dont like to have steambot with ppl that are not my family and erm so not close friends. ^___^

The restaurant is located at the NZX Commercial Centre - its like at the borderline of Subang & PJ. You can get there via the old Subang Airport road...the one where you'll pass by the Kelana Jaya Business Centre - just go straight till you reach a fly-over. Do not go up - go down to the traffic light and turn right. Then its just straight all the way. pretty easy actually. Or well just click here - MAP.

The place is very nice and cozy. Nice and simple deco. And you dont need to wave around and shout for service - just press the Service Button. Cool right ?? hahaha but unfortunately this time, the button at our table was faulty...hahaha so we ended up waving and calling for the waiters!! hehee
We ordered the chicken set and a few other extra items. vegies.taros.fu chuk.
a grilled squid. etc.
The waitress took down a few wrong orders. Gosh do i need to be very clear the next time i go there. sigh. Lunch was long. I think due to the mistakes of the waitress - we kinda over ordered the items. Ok ok not WE..i was the one ordering- sigh -
i really have to be more clear the next time....
Anyway, after lunch - that full hot lunch. we walked around the NZX Ctr for awhile. The place looks nice but its very empty. But we still managed to find a few quirky stuff/stores to check out!! =p

The fortune calling cat!! cute right!!! And a few stores that sells jewellries like these...i was sooo tempted but i already have waaayy to many. hehehehe
One of my favourite stops/store! Filled with statues of soldiers!! Just like the Tin Soldiers!!! cool right!! And obviously this was a photo-op!! hehehehee
would love to get one these soldiers but just didnt know what to do with it if i do get one.......hmmm

im still thinking.......

Stores that sell fake flowers.....instant noodles....and loads and loads of containers!! loads i tell ya!! loads!! - did i mention i have a tendecy to buy containers and bottles ??? hahahaha well i do but you'll be proud to know...i walked away from this particular store....i did...i walked away......

Metal statues/animals - cute stationery - super uber cute faux food!! hahahaha

Of coz of all things Timothy wants to pose with - he chose the metal croc. I have been bugging him to pose for me and sigh....it was the metal croc that sealed the deal!!! And it was the tail....hahahahaha
Michelle was so bz choosing a uber cute pencils - for her nieces & nephew no doubt - she didnt realise i took a snap at her!!!
And yes i had to pose with the fake slice of cake!!! its just tooo cute to resist!!

Saw this lil store. It sells all things one would need to prepare for a typical chinese weddings. From ang pow packets to auspicious wordings to tea ceremony sets!! so girls out there, if ya preparing for your wedding, you might consider popping over here for a quick tour ^___^

Then loads and loads of fake lil food!! they look so real!!! I enjoy looking at it but unless i have a very nice glass cabinet for me to display these cuties in it - i think it would be redudant for me to even consider getting one of it.....coz i wouldnt know what to do with them!! hahahahaha but they look nice!! cute and nice ^_^

After a few rounds and a stop at the Fluff Pet Shop right after lunch -where super super suppppeeeeeeeeer cute doggies & puppies were....where this gorgeous Siberian Husky was boarding for a few days. This place actually have such facilities and lil dogs such as Chi HuaHua gets to room around freely. Ok back to the husky - he was 5 yrs old Siberian Husky with the a gorgeous fur coat - very chubby - i had to refrain myself from climbing over the door to hug him!!! he was beautiful!!!!
sigh...
I miss my Lucky alot!!!! *sniff* *sniff*
Anyway,we stopped by Station One for a drink. And of coz we spent hours yakking the day away. I have to say this, it was a great day to be out with good friends. The weather was cooling coz of the rain. Wet but not heavy storm rain kinda of wet. Very nice.
What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. ^___^
We are apparently meeting up again next weekend for Korean Food coz Michelle's Bf will be around. He's Korean - so better to bring a Korean to a Korean Restaurant...hehe easier to order!! ahahahaha
but we might consider changing plan and going over to Kajang for satay and dropped by Timothy's place to see his Great Dane!! i know i know..Great Dane!!!

Great Dane is one of the dogs i wanna get - i intend to get - when i finally have my own house ...hehehe..when...when..
So till then people......till then....
