My Journey continues.. | Monday, July 31, 2006
Instead of starting with an introduction...which is very boring..hahaha...i'll just continue where i left off. ^_^
Here are the photos i took on my way to Cameron Highlands ( A place i used to visit annually until 2 years ago) then to Kota Bharu ( A place i HAVE NOT VISITED in ovr 10 years )and then finally Kuala Terengganu ( A place i have never been to ) .Took loads of pics - tempted to upgrade my memory card or atleast buy another along with an extra battery. But the pics are mostly just sceneries. But i enjoy doing that anyway ^_^
It has been a long time since i went on any trips. And i have to say this ,its been a very relaxing journey. Althought it a ROAD TRIP - hahaha and my journey back from Kuala Terengganu was definately unforgettable. It was indeed fun. Although my bro and his wife..and my sister didnt get to tag along coz they need to work , it has given me a great opportunity to spend some wonderful time with my parents. Priceless. Wouldnt trade it for anything in the world.
The past two years, work has taken up almost any free time that i have. And coz of my inconsistent " OFF DAYS " - i was excluded out of alot of my family trips. Sigh. Sad but true. =( Anyway im gonna make the most of it this time around. Am on a break.Much much needed break.Getting my sanity back. HAhAHAHAhaha
This was taken on my way up to Cameron Highlands. We took a different route this time. This was Gua Musang. ( i think....confession - i failed my Geography - sigh )

This is the view from my hotel room - We stayed at the Equatorial Hotel . Isnt is nice. It really gives one a really calming and soothing feel , dont ya think ?

Another view of Cameron Highlands from the Cafe where we had our breakfast.
This was one of the two dishes we had for Steambot. We ate at " Hong Kong " Restaurant at Tanah Rata . We usually wouldnt opt for Steambot unless we were preparing it ourselves but seeing only 3 of us so i said why not ? Anyway no trip up to Cameron Highlands is completed without stopping at this restaurant. It is definately one of the best Steambot i have had in ages. Yeah yeah Klang got loads of Steambot but this was reallly good.
So the next day we went to Kota Bharu - driving/using a new road .This was a rather smooth road , no bumps and all but damn was it deserted. It was a tad scared coz we didnt see more than 5 cars!! and all our phones has NO LINE . was wondering if we breakdown or something, what were we gonna do ?? ok ok i was in denial , I WAS SCARED . i kept asking my Dad , are you sure this is the right way ??
Finally reach Kota Bharu - this was the hotel we stayed in - Hotel Perdana. It was once a very established Hotel - i mean its not bad.It used to be so difficult to get a reservation here. Met up with my Aunt ( Mum's Eldest Sis - Missed her sooo very much ) and cousins and nephews and nieces.
When one goes to Kota Bharu , one definately need to visit a temple or two. Wanted to see The Sleeping Buddha but my cousin brought us here instead. This is a new Thai Buddhist Temple. Cant remember its name =( but it was - BEAUTIFUL. Its still under progress but one cant help but enjoy the scenery. This is how the inside of the temple look like. The main colour of the interior was Gold. Its not those tacky gold but a really nice Gold. Once you walked in , you get that " WOW " feel.
Then we went to another Thai Buddhist Temple - i dunno the name either - sigh. note to self : Next time write down the names of the places i visit.
Neways , I absolutely had to take this photo. Its even bigger in real life. Its so .... Majestic - The Majestic Statue of Buddha.
My cousin brough us to this well known Thai Restaurant - Restaurant Cheng Mai - there are two , one in the town - the other in the outskirt of KB. We went t o the latter. Just weeks before the local food show at 8TV - Ho Chak - went to this restaurant as well. The food was yummmyyyyyy . There you can see my cousin's wife , my niece and nephews. Check out the headless roast/fried chicken ala kebab style .It was actually set on fire with brandy ( i think ) so the smell was....hhmmmmmmm. Oh yeah , we also tried the Nasi Dagang at Jln Post Office - yes the one that came on 8TV-Ho Chak too - but boy...erm..lets just say i wont be going back for THAT Nasi Dagang anymore. Super Disappointed. The next day we were on our way to Kuala Terengganu . When we first reach Terengganu.Notice the road is sooooo flat! No Hills. No Mountains.Just flat road....flat flat flat.

Doesnt this look like a picture off a post card ?? ^_^. The beach as the back drop - the coconut tree - a wooden hut/house. Nice.

Dad suggested we used a new highway - so instead of goin thru Gua Musang way - we were gonna cut in thru Kuala Terengganu - Long story short - The so called HIGHWAY ( Pantai something ) wasnt complete YET . The Map was WRONG. And for the next 3 or so hours, this was the road we used. Its like just two lanes - hardly any cars - no line on our mobile - and loads and loads of Pokok Kelapa Sawit - sigh. It was frustrating. Was dead hungry coz breakfast was yuck , didnt eat much ( yeah ME not eating much so tht was definately not a good sign ) -didnt feel too well - an urgency to answer nature's call but there were no DECENT stops around. Sigh. When we finally reach the proper Highway - Boy was i relief.Anyway when we finally got home...we were exhausted. It was definately good to be home again. Although i have a lil confession. I brought a small bolster-like pillow with me.hehehehehe
Definately a FUN trip. Time well spent with my parents. We brought my Aunt ( Mum's eldest sis - )I was my Dad's sort of Co-Driver coz I was reading the MAP for him!! hahaha - ok..we had some erm...arguements ? hehe i guess...I cant read a MAP to save my life when we started this trip - but i am proud to say now , I AM ABLE TO READ A MAP - NOW! ^_^ ( i think..hehehe)Anyway I was away from WORK. No worries. Dont need to put up with people. Annoying People if ya know what i mean. wasnt in any rush to get back to work. Got a few offers...one was actually what i would have taken but unfortunately i didnt feel like travelling everydayto Damansara Uptown- you've been there , you know what i mean. Horror!! And seein how i had actually spent a good 3 years in PJ-Hartamas-Bangsar area during my college and while i was teaching .Then another 2 years or so in Puchong - All the travelling and traffics..ARGHH - But was still hanging around PJ - Hartamas ( I cant help it - Every other weekends a group of us would have dinner at Soul'ed Out - and end our nights at Starbucks or CB - Mont Kiara - (Michelle , sure miss those time hangin out with you and Ethan n Kelvin - aarh those good ol'days ) Meanwhile might be taking another trip soon. Prolly Penang. Yes yes...i havent been to Penang in ages too - erm 2 maybe 3 years ? Gonna meet up with a few friends - Andy for one - coz sort of FFK him the last time i was in Penang - Sorry la..
