Langkawi Island & Patong Beach | Thursday, September 06, 2007
Seeing that i was working onboard a cruise line, we usually go to places where there are water. hehehe islands and such.
As i already have a post on Redang Island Exploration in which i took the MOST photographs of, i thought i should put some of the very very few pictures of Langkawi and Patong beach that i took.
Believe it or not, i have only been out to Langkawi Island - once. Why ? dont ask. hehe went to the Duty Free - duuhh of coz la.
And Sunny Beach. that was pretty much it.
After my first outing, i kept saying that the next time i will rent a car and explore the island.
well thats what i kept saying and that was all i ever did...keep saying only. @_@ . due to work, didnt really have time to go out. And furthermore its usually very hot in Langkawi.

 Gorgeous view eh ? If you sit still for awhile and if you're lucky, you might just catch a glimpse of a dolphin swimming by. And if you're really lucky - like ME - you'll actually catch a school of dolphins swimming by. It was an unforgettable experience. I have experienced it. It was right after our weekly General Drills. I was the promenade - open deck - area. Waiting for someone. And i was just looking out at the waters and wonder if i would get lucky. and i DID! I actually saw a school of dolphins.It's just too bad i didnt have my camera or my mobile with me. but the picture is printed in my head ^_^.
 This is Sunny Beach. Me and Michelle. She brought me to eat there, i have to say this, the food sucks! and expensive no less but sucks!! i cook better.
But the sand was clean,soft and beautiful.Many of the crews and tourist were there taking a dip in the water or just sun bathing. Since i can do neither, i just walked around trying very hard to stay out of the sun. hehehe
 This is Zee Deneck Junior. The first born of our onboard magician at that time Zee Deneck. He is a very smart and talented young man. And he is cute too. I miss him. He and his family,(Dad - the magician, mum and Danny - his younger brother and also my darling) are now in SuperStar Gemini.
Ok now besides, Langkawi Island. We travel to Phuket once a week. And between December to March/April - Off Monsoon Season - we actually dock at Patong Beach. In which we would need to take the tendering boat out to the beach area. Seldom go out as well coz it was HOT HOT HOT. But once in awhile i do go when i need to buy something or when somebody is buying me lunch at ZEN's. a really good Japanese Restaurant there. I know what you're thinking.
What the heck was i doing in a Japanese Restaurant when i should be sampling the local Thai food - right ?
I do eat the Thai Local food. When our ship docks at the Deep Sea Port - coz all i had to do then was to walk out of the little platform connecting the ship and the land - and im there where the small stalls selling yummy food - fruits and souvenirs are. hehehe
Anyway, Patong Beach is filled with many restaurants and hotels. Its a tourist spot really. dont see much of a local food stall excepts for the few motor-stalls selling corns and fruits.

 Look closely towards the left of the picture - see the white ship ? Thats SuperStar Virgo - my home for 10 months. Looks small eh ? Its the biggest ship in our fleet.  Did i mention to you guys that this was also the place where Tsunami took place ? This was that very beach. I didnt snap any pictures of it but when we were there, they were still re-building the washed out buildings by the beach side - across the very narrow road. I try not to think about it. Makes me sad. =(  Anyways, here is Bin Bin, Me and Yen. Pretty girls in a row. hehehe i know so thick skin right ? =p
i dont care. This is my blog and i can say whatever i want~! eat your heart out!! When you have your own blog - you can also post your own picture and named yourself the MOST Gorgeous or whatever it is that you feel like naming. ^_^

For every place the ship stops at, there are always places for us the crew to go and eat. Regardless if you're new or not, crews will usually bring you to these same few places. The regular restaurants that they will visit. And to us onboard, we refer to these restaurants as our "Crew Mess" as in our canteen.
WHY ??
Coz all these so called "Crew Mess" we visit outside the ship - you will get the feeling as though you have never left the ship - huh ? you're wondering eh ? hehe coz you will still see the same group of people you see everyday when you're eating in the crew mess onboard the ship. Hence the crews refer to their usual hang out outside the ship as they "Crew Mess" as well.
I just wished i had taken more pictures of these places.

Perhaps next time when i travel to these places again for my holiday, i will not be in such a hurry to rush back to work, i'll be able to enjoy the scenery more and take more pictures. ^_^
